I'm Sandy, a Master IEP Coach © and a teacher of 28 years, with my undergraduate as well as my master's degree in special education. I am also a parent who has sat at the IEP/504 table, advocating for my child. The IEP process can be overwhelming. I help parents go from confusion and stress to confidence and clarity.
IEP Support and Guidance Advocacy, is your go-to resource for IEP guidance. I help parents understand their rights and advocate effectively for their children’s educational needs. (No legal advice will be given and all decisions are your own.)
I have a son who was delayed in several areas and started early intervention services at 2 years old. At 3, he began the school district early childhood program on an IEP. We had him evaluated privately at 6 years old and he has had an IEP or 504 plan through high school. He starts college soon and will continue to be given accommodations.
I believe I was led to the field of special education so I would be able to help and advocate for my own son, which I have had to do each year, to be sure he was given the tools he needed to be successful. I feel blessed that I have had the experience in the world of special education. I want to share my knowledge with other parents so they can advocate for their children.
At IEP Support and Guidance Advocacy, I am dedicated to empowering parents in navigating the complex IEP process. My goal is to ensure that every child receives the support they need for academic success and a free and appropriate public education. I will work with you to ensure this.
I can work with parents of students of any age, preschool through high school, in any state.
I have years of experience helping hundreds of students who have disabilities, such as autism, ADHD, behavior disorders, learning disabilities, speech and language disorders, cognitive delays, just to name a few. I have written hundreds of IEPs in my years of teaching for students who are fully included, to included part of the day, to self-contained classrooms, to alternative schools. I am also a certified Master IEP Coach©
I will review testing reports and IEPs. I will help you understand the entire process as well as giving my expert advice on goals and objectives, placement, accommodations, inclusion, etc.
I understand that students and parents have busy schedules. That's why I offer flexible scheduling options.
I have been advocating for my students my whole career, as well as advocating for my own child. Helping students succeed when given the right supports, has been what my whole career has been about.
